You and King are indeed on to something. I do not question that Masonry is being, and has been, used for dispicable purposes. The brotherhood has been breeched from within. However, these few "bad-apples" do not represent the true heart of Masonry as embodied in the priciples and moral teachings.
These few persons have found in Masonry a usefull vehicle to carry out their activities in secret. Have other masons aided and abetted their activities? To be sure. Still, this does not invalidate Masony as an institution. Are we to say that Catholics are evil because so many Popes were involved in evil works? In some cases, yes we should. Some Catholics worked along with the evil instigators willingly. But not in all cases were Catholics evil in and of themselves. Many other religions and organizations of all kinds have this same trouble.
In our age, the plots and plans attributed to Masony have their roots in the activities of a select few lodges chiefly in Italy. Not exclusivly there, but mostly so. The activities of these lodges can be traced back several centuries through contacts with many of the royal houses of Europe. Again, not all but many of them. Is the pursuite of power at the root of all this? To be sure. Is Bush and his cronies "up to no good?" Perhaps: And their ilk with them.
The first major breech came at the time of Philip the Fair. He's the goof-ball that put his henchman Pope Clement on the throne in Rome. These two wonder boys were responsible for the distruction of what we now call the Knights Templer. These two together with another organization now known as the Knights of St. John or Knights Hospitilers. There was much animosity between these two groups of knights. Each was given duty in the holy land and carried out there charges as best they could. The trouble started when certain of the Knights Templer found something in the ruins of the temple in Jerusalem. Being illiterate men, for the most part, they sent the most important finds to Italy for interpretation. Other finds led to discoveries of great wealth buried in various places near and around Jerusalem. The Knights Templer, over time, accrued great wealth to the organization as a whole. Between the secrets they discovered and the wealth they had are found the roots of the present evil that has pervaded the upper levels, so to speak, of Masonry. Those in power wanted to stay there. Those who were deeply indebted to the Knights Templer sought to have their debts wiped out in one fell swoop.
What were the secrets? No one knows for sure as the Papacy and various royal houses worked to keep it out of reach of the people. They were supremely successful in this matter but not in all others.
Their attempt to eradicate the Knights Templer was not totally successful. Many escaped and with a substatial store of wealth and information of "arcane" significance. To this day, these pieces of information are at the heart of the very means to distroy the evil rotten core that you are speaking of. Knowledge of these facts on the part of the evil ones are, as well, the very reason that it suits thier purspose to have Masonry itself attacked. Possibly distroyed. Divide and conquer is a priciple that works today as well as it did back then. The very conversation we are having in a strange sort of way supports their ends. After all, we are arguing opposing points of view are we not? Points of view that can be turned in many directions; not all good ones? Yes it is so. Paridoxically, it is this very kind of discussion, and DISCLOSURE, done in public, that is feared dreadfully by the evil ones. That is why I recommend that revealing these people at every turn in so vitally important. If you have names, name them. If you have events, list them. And so on. I assure you that I am NOT trying to be confrontational with either of you. I mean only to go beyond the immediate argument and press for the resolution.
There is no greater revenge then a life well lived. Example is a powerfull weapon on our side. Live as you would have Masonry known in the world. Defy the evil by leading exemplory lives. The trouble with this is that such activities, as you hint, are attacked by them vociferously. Worse, the attacks are sometimes violent in nature. Sometimes it is of paramount danger to face evil nose to nose, as it were. The Knight Templer knew this and paid the price in their day. Who is will to pay today? Yes indeed: God bless us all!
