:550 meters on a point target. 800 meters on an area target. All theorectical, this is according to the Army's manual on the M16A2. Bushmaster shows that their souped up ARs will shoot 10 rounds into 4 inches at 200 yards. The gun maybe capable, but is the shooter?

• Re: AR-15 maximum range. I have shot groups just under 3" at 300 yards, the average is about 4.75" with federal ball. At 600 yards the fedral ball will keep the rounds in a man size target. 68-70 grn match bullets will cut the group size by about 30%. This is with a 20" Colt flat top. CFULLER 11:31:59 4/19/99 (0)
