My understanding is that a blue label is a Colt AR-15 manufactored between the 1989 ban and the 1994 ban. It has a flash hidder but no baynet lug. A green label is a Colt AR-15 manufactored before 1989 with all preban features. I think also it has something to do with a sear block, which the blue label has, and the green doesnt(?). Anyway, I am sure my fellow brothers in arms will correct me if I am too far off from the truth.
I also read that someone asked Colt the difference and they stated that it was just a coincidental matter of changing label colors, and that there is actually no significance to the different colors (as far as Colt is concerned anyway).
For what it's worth, I'm probably over my head here but maybe I will learn something too!
