The labels are on the end of a Colt box with the gun's serial number on it.
Colt changed the color when as a result of going from an unblocked sear
receiver (GREEN label) to the blocked sear receiver (BLUE LABEL).
I have seen a few that were blue label guns without Sear blocks (YES - the
labels matched the gun's serial numbers). The last one I saw was manufactured
in June of 1994.
The unblocked receiver readily accepts an autosear to convert a semiautomativ to
an FA gun - but you knew that ^__*
